Psalms 145
- 14여호와께서는 모든 넘어지는 자를 붙드시며 비굴한 자를 일으키시는도다The LORD upholdeth all that fall, and raiseth up all those that be bowed down.The LORD upholds all who fall, and raises up all those who are bowed down.
- 15중생의 눈이 주를 앙망하오니 주는 때를 따라 저희에게 식물을 주시며The eyes of all wait upon thee; and thou givest them their meat in due season.The eyes of all wait for you. You give them their food in due season.

Background
Psalm 145 is the last psalm bearing David's name and the only psalm in the Psalter with the title 'Praise.' It is an acrostic following the order of the Hebrew alphabet, praising God's attributes in a systematic way. This psalm was so treasured in Jewish tradition that there was a custom of reciting it three times a day. Verses 14-21 form the latter half of the psalm, showing that God's kingship is not abstract authority but concrete goodness that cares for the weak. This section is especially beautiful in the way it joins God's cosmic reign with His personal care.

Today's reflection
Psalm 145 is David's final psalm of praise, declaring that God's greatness will be passed on from one generation to the next. Verses 14-21 show how God's goodness appears in concrete ways. Verse 14 says He 'upholds all who fall and raises up all who are bowed down.' God's goodness reaches out first not to the strong but to the weak.
Verses 15-16 say that the eyes of all look to God, and He gives them their food in due season. The phrase 'in due season' matters here. God meets our needs not at the moment we would choose but at the most fitting time. Verses 17-20 declare that God is righteous, that He is near, that He fulfills the desire of those who fear Him, and that He preserves those who love Him.
This passage tells us that God's goodness is not a vague feeling but daily, everyday care. Eating today's meal, drawing today's breath, receiving someone's help — God's goodness is present in all of it. Even at this very moment, God knows your needs and is providing for them in due season.
