Psalms 145
- 1왕이신 나의 하나님이여 내가 주를 높이고 영원히 주의 이름을 송축하리이다I will extol thee, my God, O king; and I will bless thy name for ever and ever.I will exalt you, my God, the King. I will praise your name forever and ever.

- 5주의 존귀하고 영광스러운 위엄과 주의 기사를 나는 묵상하리이다I will speak of the glorious honour of thy majesty, and of thy wondrous works.I will meditate on the glorious majesty of your honor, on your wondrous works.
- 6사람들은 주의 두려운 일의 세력을 말할 것이요 나도 주의 광대하심을 선포하리이다And men shall speak of the might of thy terrible acts: and I will declare thy greatness.Men will speak of the might of your awesome acts. I will declare your greatness.
- 7저희가 주의 크신 은혜를 기념하여 말하며 주의 의를 노래하리이다They shall abundantly utter the memory of thy great goodness, and shall sing of thy righteousness.They will utter the memory of your great goodness, and will sing of your righteousness.
- 8여호와는 은혜로우시며 자비하시며 노하기를 더디하시며 인자하심이 크시도다The LORD is gracious, and full of compassion; slow to anger, and of great mercy.The LORD is gracious, merciful, slow to anger, and of great loving kindness.

Background
Psalm 145 is the last psalm of praise written by David, an acrostic poem structured according to the order of the Hebrew alphabet. This form is a literary device for expressing the completeness of God. Within the overall structure of the Psalms, Psalm 145 serves as a gateway leading into the final five "Hallelujah" psalms (146-150). Though David went through many wars and trials as king, at the close of his life he offers a comprehensive confession of God's faithfulness. This psalm begins with personal praise and expands to proclaim the eternal reign of God's kingdom, and it was used prominently in the worship of the community of Israel.

Today's reflection
Psalm 145 is an acrostic (alphabetically ordered) poem in which David praises the greatness of God. In verses 1-3, David declares that he will bless God "every day," confessing that God's greatness surpasses the human ability to measure. In verses 4-7, he portrays how one generation tells another of God's works, and in verses 8-13, he describes God's character in concrete terms.
Here the Hebrew word for "gracious" means that God is gracious and compassionate. Theologically, this psalm shows that praise is not an emotional reaction but a deliberate resolve. Regardless of his mood or circumstances, David commits to praising God "every day." It also tells us that praise does not stay with the individual but is a communal act passed on across generations.
Simply put, David could not keep to himself how great and how good God is — he wanted to tell everyone. When we too experience God's goodness in our daily lives, remembering and sharing it is the beginning of praise. Today, try to call to mind one small grace God has shown you. That memory can lead into thanksgiving and praise.
