Historical background
It holds the prophecies of Zephaniah, who ministered during King Josiah's religious reform. A descendant of King Hezekiah, he was a prophet of royal blood. After the intense idolatry of the days of Manasseh and Amon, he warned of imminent judgment while foretelling the restoration of a remnant.
