Historical background
It covers the same era as Kings, but hardly touches the northern kingdom and focuses on the southern kingdom of Judah. It interprets history around the temple and worship in particular, and repeatedly shows the grace of God, who restores those who repent. The words of 2 Chronicles 7:14 are a verse still loved by many believers today.
